Murfreesboro Softball League

At Murfreesboro Softball League we value our volunteer coaches!

All who are interested in becoming a Head or Assistant Coach must complete a profile via the Registration tab and attend the coaches meeting. Head Coaches are selected based on team availability, returning coaches are granted seniority.

Upon team assignment and prior to the first practice all Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Dugout Helpers are required to submit an application and pass a thorough background screening. It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to confirm all assistants and helpers are aware and that all paperwork is submitted.

Should I volunteer as a Head or Assistant Coach?  Both roles are vital to the success of our league. This is a personal decision based upon factors such as experience and available time. We suggest all interested in assistant coaching in addition to completing the profile and attending the coaches meeting also express interest to the appropriate commissioner in an attempt to be paired with a head coach who is in need of assistance,  it is ultimately the decision of the head coach to choose assistants.

How many protects are allowed per team? 5

Do coaches select the team name? Commissioners will provide a list of team names for selection, returning coaches are given first selection based on seniority.

When are team sponsorships due? On draft night please provide payment and the exact wording for team sponsors. Sponsors are allowed up to two lines on the back of jerseys including name, phone or web address.

Does the league provide equipment?  If at all possible coaches should provide practice balls for their team. Upon request to your commissioner the league will provide catcher gear. The league will provide all game balls: 8u, 10u and the entire slow pitch league use 11" balls. 13u and Teen Fast use 12" balls.
